Robert Gordon

Co-Founder and Director

Robert is a Brussels based dual national American / Belgian, is a seasoned executive with over three decades of international trade and business experience both in Europe and North America. During his career he has worked at The U.S. Senate, The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), AIG, Fortis Group, runs a boutique consultancy in Brussels working closely with the Canadian Mission to the European Union as well as The European Institutions, its agencies, NGOs, Business and Consumer Associations with the aim to advance stakeholders’ business goals and robustly implement Economic Partnership Agreements.
 
While at the USTR, specializing in textiles, he assisted in the negotiation of bilateral treaties with countries wishing to export to The United States. Mr. Gordon also spent fifteen years in the financial services industry where he served in several senior management positions within American International Group (AIG) in Europe and on Wall Street as well as at Fortis Group (now BNP Paribas). He ran multiple divisions and oversaw up to 12 European countries at a time managing multicultural teams developing new business. Mr. Gordon also sat on the Chairman’s Innovation Board at both AIG and Fortis where he was responsible for new product creation and market solutions.
 
Mr. Gordon is familiar with Intellectual Property and Privacy Rights and Responsibilities having been through the process personally while applying for and receiving a patent specialized in credit cards and niche businesses as well as having co-founded a company dedicated to the GDPR.
 
Mr. Gordon’s extensive network has afforded him the opportunity to participate in debates and discussions at the European Parliament and the Commission regarding a multitude of topics including the controversial TTIP as well as the successful and unprecedented Trade Agreement between Canada and the EU, CETA (Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement). Mr. Gordon has also assisted countries in their negotiations with the WTO by organizing private high-level meetings with European Commission officials in order to facilitate desired mutual results.
 
Mr. Gordon is a respected speaker and conference leader. He received his BA in International Relations from Tufts University and studied at Science Po in Paris. He is fluent in English, French and Spanish

Alex Bishop

Co-Founder and Director

Alex is a Toronto based dual citizen holding EU and Canadian Passports.

He combines experience working with organizations large and small, public and private, profit and not for profits, public and private sector.

As a private entrepreneur Alex has built and sold companies in the technology and healthcare sectors. In each case, a large component of the success of these operations was the successful execution of regulatory and government relations strategies.

His orientation in business was, and remains, to find ways to work within the regulatory and legal framework to optimize value for all stakeholders.

Alex offers Government Relations for companies that require consulting or increased collaboration with Governments, politicians and agencies to drive business.

He works with companies and not for profits to help utilize Governments to ultimately increase their profitability and efficiency.

Sara Monture

Senior Advisor - Indigenous Practice

 

In this capacity Ms. Monture with Concierge will continue to support Indigenous communities and stakeholders in navigating the intersection of Economic Development and Government Relations.

She has successfully spent the last 14 years establishing lucrative partnerships between Indigenous communities and non-Indigenous stakeholders and utilizing those relationships to create economic opportunities. Using her wide-reaching relationships inside both private industry and government partners, she has facilitated productive discussions with Indigenous groups on major projects across the country.

Ms. Monture’s track record using collaboration, an effective communications plan, and a well-planned and multi-faceted government relations approach have yielded the results her clients want. She has a deep understanding of the sensitivities required when building partnerships with Indigenous communities.

Yvonne Sinson

Senior Advisor - Mexico

Yvonne Stinson Ortiz, is consultant on international trade, as well as on negotiation and strategic planning. She served as General Director of Mining Development of the Ministry of Economy of Mexico (first half of 2019), as Head of the Trade and Investment Office of the Ministry of Economy of Mexico in Canada (between 2016 and 2018, and previously between 1993 and 1994), previously she was also appointed as the Head of the Trade and Investment Office of the Ministry before the European Union (between 2013 and 2016). As General Director of Mining Development she designed strategy to promote sustainable mining effort that was later endorsed and supported by Mexican and foreign mining companies, she was also appointed responsible for preparing the participation of the Mexican government in the PDAC and Mexico Mining Day celebrated in Canada, and the work agenda of the Undersecretary of Mining held within the framework of the PDAC. As Trade and Investment representative she was in charge to follow up on the international commitments of Mexico, participate in the analysis and processing of commercial matters, be the liaison with the Canadian or European government in matters of trade and investment, and with stakeholders, assist the Undersubsecretary of Foreign Trade in the design of strategies for the participation of the country in international negotiations. Coordinate Lobbying efforts and informative content to position the interests of the country, interviewing Stakeholders, e.g., the impact study of the TCUEM was achieved, and the convenience of modernizing it. From 2002 to 2013, she was Director of her own consultancy firm, advising domestic and foreign clients on issues related to Trade Rules, Safeguards, Antidumping and Anti-subsidies,

International Negotiations and Alternative Means of Dispute Settlement. She has been Panelist on Procedures under Chapter XIX of NAFTA. She was a member of the Advisory Council for International Trade Practices and the Advisory Group of the Business Organizations Coordinating Office on Foreign Trade in Mexico. Ms. Stinson was an adviser to the Committees on Agriculture and Foreign Trade of the Mexican Senate. She has been a journalist, specializing in economic and financial topics, and commentator on international trade.
